Finally after years, and years of waiting Philip K. Dicks “Exegesis” is scheduled to be released in 2011. PKD is best known for his novels and “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”, “The Man in the High Castle” and “The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch”. These are his most popular works, despite the fact r the work actually regarding the Exegesis exclusively is Valis. Which for years has been an over looked PKD novel, which I’m sure will gain popularity among the masses that haven’t read any PKD yet.

Mr. Lethem, the author of novels like “Chronic City” and “The Fortress of Solitude,” and who has written frequently on Mr. Dick, said hesitated to describe ”Exegesis” as a work. He described the books as a chronicle of the period in which Mr. Dick “pulled himself together again, as a writer and a human being.” “He’d been launched into outer space by the visions of the early 70s,” Mr. Lethem said, “and he was going to try to come back with the truth – and that, by definition is an impossible task.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, got the rights to 39 published works, and are re-releasing those next year as well, so I guess we’ll have a bunch more books with stupid covers, like the last round of PKD books. I collect first edition PKD so I’m to worried about it.

So you’ve read this far. Whats this Exegesis about? Um. PDK had a series of experiences in which he believed he had information transmitted to his mind by a pink beam of light and if you don’t know that its possibly one of the longest works ever written by a human, Google it. They can sum up the crazy awesome shit way faster than I can.

Volume 1 – Expected 2011, Volume 2 Expected 2012

The empire never ended.

So you know that guy in that magician movie The Prestige with Christian Bale, you know the guy who make’s the duplicating machine for Hugh Jackman. You know. No? Well that’s David Bowie playing Nikola Telsa, and July 10th marks the 153rd birthday for Croatian born inventor, turned genius and greatest inventor of the 20th century. If your not familiar with him, I suggest doing some research to see his life’s ups and down, like how Thomas Edison used him and tried to bankrupt him by using Tesla’s AC generators to electrocute a prisoner and that’s just one example of their battles. Edison sucks and we have no love for him here

Some of his inventions were a telephone repeater, rotating magnetic field principle, polyphase alternating-current system, induction motor, alternating-current power transmission, Tesla coil transformer, wireless communication, radio, fluorescent lights, and more than 700 other patents just to name a few. Lets not forget the plasma gun, and Turbine Generator.

I will also divulge that I do have a Nikola Tesla tattoo. I am extremely proud of it but only a few will ever get to see. You have to know whom he is in order to see. Or get me drunk enough to drop my pants. Hey, It’s on my thigh and they wont let me where daisy dukes out in public anymore. The Japanese police are strict on pasty white thighs. However they are fine with vending machines that sell used schoolgirl underwear. I wonder if America is ready for my used underwear?

Here are some Tesla videos and Happy Birthday Nikola we love you and wish you were still here to make all of our dreams come true, as you were known to do.

News from CERN has surfaced. The Large Hadron Collider has gone through stress-testing by the CERN group and others. The object was to gauge its limits. CERN placed the Hadron Collider under tests called Scale Testing for the Experiment Program 2009 in which they loaded as much information through dedicated fiber optical networks to distribute data from CERN to 11 main computer centers in North America, Asia, and Europe. Once its received at these centers its re-disribute to 140 different centers in 33 countries. The LHC data is processes and managed and the most recent tests completed June 30th and lasted about 2 weeks.

The latest test was designed to break the LHC says Ian Bird, who was the the leader of the project. While the LHC is set up to handle 1.3 gigabyte a second. The test pushed the limits to 4 gigabytes per second, a limit in which the LHC would never reach. The LHC was never broken during testing. The data from the experiments running at CERN also included analysis from Atlas particle accelerator. These linked to the LHC and were processed according to the grid .

CERN is scheduled to restart in October, which halted the LHC from successfully completing its run last September. The problem was due to faulty welding which caused liquid nitrogen to seep into the chamber and was heated and expanded. Right now LHC is shut down, and no data is going through any of its systems. There may be more tests before the launch of LHC, however at this time there is non scheduled.

Personally I can not wait for this to get up and running. No the world will not suck its self into a black hole. Lets get that God atom outta there and sell it on ebay. I bet the Creationist Museum buys it and says its a trick of the devil.

It’s a sad day when a your lose a game. It’s an even sadder day when you gotta sell your plane. That’s right folks, the Tron Guy has to sell his customized airplane or a we call it around here his pimp out tron plane dubbed “Sark Sailor”. It seems that Jay Maynard has been hit with a touch economic decision. To fly or ride. Tron Guy spent $140,000 (two-seater sport plane, a 2008 AMD Zodiac XLion) on the plane and had customized it with a white and blue paint just (to match his suit). Also he had the interior done to match the outside and him. Sadly he didn’t have enough money for a Super Lightcycle after the purchase. While Tron Guy has made some money from his appearances apparently they haven’t been enough to keep his plane in the sky.

Tron Guy has made a big dent on the internet. Like the lady who spells words while your forced to stare at her mammary glands, but being a computer analyst and web celebrity just doesn’t pay the plane bills like it use too. While Tron Guy has made some money from his appearances apparently they haven’t been enough to keep his plane in the sky. Jay will be auctioning off his plane on ebay coming up. While its sad to see a middle aged man in a spandex outfit, it’s even sadder to see a person lose something they love because of the economic times. We here at MLGNN salute Tron Guy for living the dream. In related news Tron Guy dreams he is killed on his LightCycle and loses the game. I just wonder what he’s smuggling under that huge cup? Probably just a bruised ego…

If by some chance you’ve never heard of the Tron Guy here’ a quick video of him. He’s a PC, perhaps if he was a Mac he could have of have kept his plane..

So you know the car. Depending on your geekiness you may or not know that he was a real man who lived an interesting life. I know the Delorean is the iconic car from back to the future and we all want a flux capacitor, but only the 1.21 giggawatts, please. Or a guy named Doc to build us one. However there are now 3 bio pics (movies or “talkies”) in the work for John Z. DeLorean. John made some big advances for motor city, before the import really took over the US market. His dream was lived, but unfortunately burned out. He did beat a cocaine rap set up by the feds. I wont give you the whole break down of his life. However he did dies at the age of 80. So expect a long movie… On the up side they still make the Delorean and for about 60,000 you can buy a brand new one or for about 30,000 get a pre-owned one. I’d opt for the pre-owned. Get that Back to the Future feel and know that I’m driving history. Perhaps from profits from my charity I will be able to by one. Whats my charity you ask. Its Help Me Get a Delorean, and Drive Sick Kids Charity or HMGDDSKC for short, heys it’s all about the kids right.

So an exciting break in science has occurred. Scientist have found a way to make buckyballs in to buckywires. The trick that Junfeng Geng and colleagues have found is a way to connect two buckyballs together using a molecule of 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene–a colorless aromatic hydrocarbon. Buckywires would be good light harvesters because of the way they produce photon-liberated electrons. Also this opens a whole new world of drug distributions. Geng and co suggest that buckywires ought to be safer than carbon nanotubes because the production method is entirely metal-free. That cannot be said of nanotubes because the reaction that forms them is catalyzed by metallic nanoparticles. Whats safer than a carbon nanotube?

The company ASUS has come up with an invention so revolutionary, so new, so conceivable that it’s been invented at least 50 times over and re-done more times than I can recount. However this is a pretty cool table with mutli-touch and sensors built -in. Unveiling their new table at Computex 2009 booth, with the theme “Seamless Experience”. I must admit everything works pretty seamless. Items placed across the table can be placed near each other to interact, you can even put a piece of paper on the table with a word written on it and the table will pull it up. The table would project out text messages from your cell phone, and tell what your drinking and what temperature it is. So whether this sounds familiar or your a noob and your first time enjoy the video. Like Criswell I’ll make a prediction. This isn’t the last we’ve seem of this type of furniture, and we’ll all be owning one in the next ten years.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8G4JoOzvqA

Are you fully prepared to live in one company’s most likely inaccurate and yet still totally awesome vision of the future? If not, check out the video after the break. ASUS tossed together its ideas into a “Seamless Experience” showing at its Computex 2009 booth. Apparently the future involves a lot of interactive countertops — a sort of pervasive Surface-lite, which presents interactive, relevant info for objects placed on it. The tech also facilitates interaction between devices placed near each other, and can even capture data from a plain ol’ piece of paper and integrate it into the system. Sure, it’s been shown before, but we’re sure once enough companies come up with this idea independently they’ll be able to form two warring factions and fend off consumer adoption with a format war for years to come

Coming out of Germany is a new little device that could possible reconfigure they way we live our lives. Or at least make us all look like River Cuomo. The OLED data eyeglasses were developed in Germany at the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems. These glasses project onto the retina via an OLED micro-display to have the image appear as if it is infact in front of the user. The rough distance is a meter in front of the wearers face. The most interesting part of these glasses are the eyeball scrolling. There is a device located on the hinge that reads the eyeball movement and scrolls the pages up or down for the person wearing them.

Steven Hawkings already has a pair and he’s the worlds smartest man. So seems like a good idea to me. The worlds second smartest man. PS. Don’t call MENSA they’ve never heard of me either. Strange I know…

Its called the Spy Ear Power Strip. This fully functional 8 space power strip works but slipping in a SIM card, and also an SD card. After you pop in the SIM card and leave you can call the number associated to the SIM and wala. It picks up via a tri-band mobile phone transmitter, and you can hear everything said via a little microphone located in the power strip. Unfortunately this does not support 3G, but hey for the price you can’t be to picky. This also has a rechargeable battery so if you can’t plug it in, but make it look plugged in it will run the hardware attached. This little bad boy runs you $66.00 dollars and hours of voyeurism.

So it’s come to this… Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo is just willy nilly handing out iPhone’s. Sure its basically like an Ivy league Japanese school, and you think yeah they the money. Not the case oh my brother. These school have discovered a very luxurious way to get infomation to students, and also track students. The iPhone is being used in the School of Social Informatics. The devices will be used to relay course materials and serve as a platform for students to make their own apps. A lot of university’s have devices where students press a button during class to tell the attendance nazi whether your there or not. This goes a step further and lets the professors actually see through GPS where the student actually is. However it also helps professors keep track of there students. I think this is a great idea. It integrates the functionally of the iPhone for course work, and also with out having to carry around those dumb beeper looking things.

Now comes the real dilemma. Kids could give there phones to their friends. I wouldn’t give my iPhone to somebody and be like there go to class. Ill get it later. This is the mind set the school is hoping the students will have. This sounds like its a learning tool, but definitely has the underlying tones or just keeping an eye on students without them really knowing it. Sometimes you have to give up a peace of freedom in order to have an a piece of technology. Isaac Asimov would not approve… Unless the iPhone followed the 3 Law of Robotics.
