So September 18th will make a new milestone in technology. Pepsi Co. will be releasing its first video ad insert into a print publication. It will be an insert in the magazine that will contain a print ad with a screen to show the commercial for Pepsi Max. CBS is backing Pepsi with this new technology in hopes of gaining more readers, and hopefully
more revune for Pepsi Co with the introduction of the Max brand which is geared towards men.
The ad will be powered by the Americhip, who have been developing this microchip for about 2 years and is excited for the release. The screen for the ad will be 2.7 millimeters thin, and have a screen resolution of 320×240. The internal battery will have a viewing time of 65 to 70 minuites, before the recharge. The screen will be a TFT LCD which translates to transistor liquid crystal display which translates to little thin tv. It will also be re-enforced by a protective polycarbonate.
Unfortunately this insert will only be included to subscribers who live in New York, and Los Angeles. However I would expect to see these incerts clutering your magazines in the near future. I’m waiting for the AVN ad to come out.
