3 Short Articles.

Eve Online Robbed

So in an unexpected move yesterday a bank was robbed. How horrible that people lost all there money. Plus the FDIC did not insure the bank so this makes this even more horrific for the people involved. However this bank was virtual, along with the money. So there was a virtual heist. The guy “Ricdic” who was in control of the bank on EVE Online traded $1.2 million of fake money ISK (the fake currency) for $5,000 bucks real life cash. He used the money to pay off debts. Would you trust a banker with the word dic after his first name? I wouldn’t. I say put fake money into a fake account, and it gets fake stolen, deal with it. I never did trust that little creep from Monopoly. That’s why I keep all my Monopoly money in a safe deposit box, cause anybody with a monocle cannot be trusted. Goes for Mr. Peanut too.

Found: One mysterious iPhone
There’s a prototype 16gig iPhone 3Gs on eBay right now. It was found at an airport and it can’t be restored. An Apple Genius has looked over the phone, and did confirm it is an apple product however it was never registered in the apple database, as every product should be. The serial number apparently never made that list. It’s going for $365.00 right now on eBay. Who knows maybe its open source or even more in tune with reality plays FLASH!, which in any case would make the phone priceless .  I’ll keep you posted if anything comes of this iPhone.

Lower Prices or make your own damn games
Another company jumped on Sony’s back to lower the prices of the PS3. This time it’s Tecmo Koei. Activision has already threatened to pull development for future PS3 games if the price does not drop, and Tecmo is “maybe” thinking the same thing. They are just suggesting they would like the prices to lower. These developers are not necessarily losing money, but they’re not making as much money as they are with Xbox360. I think it’s about time somebody spoke up too Sony about their outrageous prices. Also to add my cons against Sony they killed the Hulu ability of the PS3, that’s a whole other rant.  However I think this is just a big ploy by Sony to make everyone happy and they’ll lower the prices in time for Christmas so they’ll be a hot seller.  They move all digital crack with dust building it up on it.

Why the three articles? I’m extremely busy this 3 day weekend. So hopefully this will keep you over till I can clear more time to write a longer post.

Hottest Girls Just got Hottest(er)…

Update:  Not available on the App Store as of now. Apparently its too adult for the iPhone. Not for me!

So now there is “porn” on the iPhone thanks to Allen Leung. Well its not exactly porn, more like topless pictures of females. The developer of Hottest Girls uploaded the pictures because Apple now lets you decide if you want adult content from the app store. Perhaps Job’s little hospital stint left him feeling a bit lonely after staring at his nurses all day. I say it’s a small step in the right direction. The iPhone 3.0 lets you filter out “adult” content, with its parental option. This is just a small step of what people can and can not view on the iPhone. I’m still waiting for open source, but I’m not holding my breath and I’ll even settle for Flash.

Being an iPhone user I’m extremely happy this has taken place. It’s my belief that no one should be censored and this important step in the Apple community. This does come with a +17 rating, but some people need to be warned. Which is fair. Ok, Ok. Now for the pictures. These are censored, I don’t need any mom’s of the little MLG’s yelling at me because I don’t know how to code a you must be +17 to view this post. Before the e-mails come in I know you could look at adult sites, or upload pictures to your iPhone, or save them on the phone. This is just about the first application to say “Hey I have daddy issue’s and Apple says its cool”. Ok, now let them roll in.

These are screen shots from my iPhone.

iPhone 3G S (S is for sold out)

Well I am happy and sad to report that the pre-order for the Apple iPhone 3G S is sold out. So if you were looking to avoid the lines, your a tad bit late. Even if you can find a place to do a pre-order there is a minimum of a 2 week wait. If you were looking to skip the camp out  and digital file transfers then you’ll have to wait like everyone else who didn’t pre-order on time.

The AT&T customers who have placed there pre-orders in, still have to show up at the stores at 7a, to grab their phone. There pre-orders are kind of like line savers. So their covered but where does that leave you. We’ll if you like me, just playing with your iPhone 3G for an extra couple of weeks. I suspect that if you haven’t pre-ordered yet, theres probaly a reason, and you should know that the iPhone craze has happened twice already. So this shouldn’t be a shock about wait times. At least to those reading this. .. Viva la Apple.

Cool-er is the Coolest…

You maybe be thinking “I should read more” or “I really should get off this page and meet a real live girl/boy “, for the rest of us thinking “I don’t know which e-book reader to buy” this may be the solution your looking for.  Now I love the feel of a book, almost obsessively. However with taking books here and there they get destroyed.  So an e-book reader may be in my future. However which one should I buy. I already have an iPhone. I find the screen to small for adecuate reading, and if i enlarge the text in turning the page every nano second. The Kindle is just too damn expensive for my tastes.  This is where the Interead’s Cool-er comes into play. At about 100 bones less than Kindle, and boasting a more open to accepting different file fomats, and 8 differerent colors. I feel they may give Amazon a run for the money.

The Cool-er is lighter, has a book store you connect too, and has the same screen size as the Kindle 2.  Cool-er beats the kindle in memory space with an SD slot, and a replaceable battery for a whopping 5 dollars. This might be the e-reader of the future.

Japanese Schools using GPS…

Get Back to Class, Vixen!

Get Back to Class, Vixen!

So it’s come to this… Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo is just willy nilly handing out iPhone’s. Sure its basically like an Ivy league Japanese school, and you think yeah they the money. Not the case oh my brother. These school have discovered a very luxurious way to get infomation to students, and also track students. The iPhone is being used in the School of Social Informatics. The devices will be used to relay course materials and serve as a platform for students to make their own apps. A lot of university’s have devices where students press a button during class to tell the attendance nazi whether your there or not. This goes a step further and lets the professors actually see through GPS where the student actually is.   However it also helps professors keep track of there students. I think this is a great idea. It integrates the functionally of the iPhone for course work, and also with out having to carry around those dumb beeper looking things.

Now comes the real dilemma. Kids could give there phones to their friends. I wouldn’t give my iPhone to somebody and be like there  go to class. Ill get it later. This is the mind set the school is hoping the students will have.  This sounds like its a learning tool, but definitely has the underlying tones or just keeping an eye on students without them really knowing it. Sometimes you have to give up a peace of freedom in order to have an a piece of technology.  Isaac Asimov would  not approve… Unless the iPhone followed the 3 Law of Robotics.

Apple Tablet…

app-tabWord on the street is that Apple is in development of a tablet computer. A hybrid of the Macbook and an iPhone which is scheduled to drop in 2010. This by the way is a rumor. Like Apple would come out with a phone in the early 2000′s.  So I’m game to believe. The idea is that it’d be better for surfing the Web, watching movies, and reading books than the iPod or iPhone, but not powerful enough that it would crush notebook sales.

Apple is also rumored to be partnering with Verizon Wireless for some other mobile devices that are planned for release in 2010 as well.  The bigger iPhone type device most likely is to compete with the Amazon’s Kindle.

As Apple first then PC user, I think Apple is slacking here. They could have had my money for the tablet, but Apples lose is MSI’s gain.   However I can ‘t wait for these products. VIVA LA APPLE!!

Viva La APPLE!!!!

The iPhone May Have Swine Flu…

Dr. Jelly Finger is back!

Dr. Jelly Finger is back!

Developers at IntuApps are developing a tracking program for the Swine Flu spread. They will be using the the some of the systems people already use for tracking the spread of the disease. Apple is still reviewing the program, or not based on a previous post. (read everything), but hopefully we’ll get access to this in another week or so. The program will have five tabs. The first tab will have current threat levels from the WHO, second tab will be the google map tracker and so on. Im not writing a review of it here. The creators say that people are concerned about the spread and they are doing there part by  releasing a FREE yes, free app. “Oh Lord Im coming for ya, this is the big one”. So expect to see thie Swine Flu app, and the Swine flu coming to a neighborhood to you.

I know I’ll be using this app to track how many of my skeezy neighbors have it. I can use it against them in the future. Except now I wont want my lawnmower, or blender back. This is getting a little out of control. I mean come on, a tracker for the disease thats not a pandemic? How many people have AIDs??? Yet no trackers for that. They  go spreading it unknowingly and people have no chance to stop that. SO yes the swine flu is app is a good thing. However I feel that they should be putting time to develop applications that are more useful. Also if I see one more fart application I’m going to take a fire arm to a developers poop shoot and we’ll see how funny farting noises are.  I swear some of these developers must be like 6.

The OG Swine Flu.

Microsoft back in court…

In Brusells Microsoft is back in court fighting to get the case infront of the EU for the anti-trust suite that has come upon them one again. This time its for Explorer 8.

Microsoft is accused of “crushing rivals by bundling its Internet Explorer web browser into its ubiquitous Windows personal computer operating system, giving the program a huge advantage over competitor’s browsers”.

Microsoft lost is case with the EU (European Union) regulators in 2007 which was then 660 million dollars. Plus another 1.2 million in fines and fees. If they lose this case it will be the bggest loss, and fine of any anti-trust case.

I’m pretty sure Microsoft couldn’t give a s&^t. They have made 27 billion dollars since 2001. So I’m sure the retired Bill gates, is shaken in his boot. I’m pretty sure with the money he makes every second, it’ll take his geriatric ass longer to crap than it will for him to right a check for 2 million dollars.

Have these people never heard of Firefox, which Microsoft hates, because its a better browser. Or even Safari. Microsoft could give 2 bits about any apple stuff, except the iPhone which has basically crippled the WinOS mobile operating systems running on phones all over the world. Everyone wants an iPhone. Also weren’t they also sued over this already? I guess if you change the number it doesn’t make it double jeopardy. Now I’m not an advote for anything Microsoft. Except MS-DOS, so I say if they wanna rule the market. Let um. Sometimes you gotta pay to be king.

Picture is worth a 1000 words.

A picture is worth a 1000 words. or 6 words.
