Still obsessed with Japanese robots. I know I am. I wish I could buy them like those handy Japanese panty vending machines. Um and continuing on … Researchers collaborating from the Nippon Institute of Technology, Harada Vehicle Design, ZMP and ZNUG Design have just taken the wraps off another addition to the crew. The newest version of the e-NUVO walk bot stands about 4 feet tall, making it roughly the size of an elementary school aged child, and will be incorporated into classes to teach children about humanoid robots in a hands-on environment.
Ah leave it up to the Japanese to have a robots that’s hands on with kids. Here in America that robot would get 15 for 5…
So Panasonic is creating a robot to dispense any number of drugs to patients in hospital. They announced that the robot maybe dispensing drugs as soon as March in some Japanese hospitals. The medical robot will be released later to Europe and the US. They have been in development for a couple of years on their first robot and hope to have this generating revenue in the field of $315 million by 2016. The robot will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars or a lot more yen. Panasonic isn’t going for the usual robot design we see today. Its more like the robot out of “Flight of the Navigator” the one where Sarah Jessica Parker sneaks in on,and the kid sneaks out of. There are a lot of compartments, and small cubbies to store your prescribed goods. The robot can dispense about 400 prescriptions to 400 patients with in the period of about 2 hours, also including injection drugs. Panasonic is excited about its new robotics development center and its first robot, and plans to develop more in the coming future.
So a Japanese company Kobian are at it again with an artificial intelligence robot. This robot may not be as pretty as the J-Girl robot, but this one can express
seven different emotions from apathy to disgust. The robot features human like hands, independent eyebrows, lips, and fully functional body. Besides having an attitude or being an angel, the robot can recognize it’s environment, and perform scheduled tasks. The Robot was first designed to help take care of the elderly, also be a companion. I guess it could double as an undertaker.
I would be terrified to have this thing around me. The kid robot, looks less creepy than this, but i guess I wouldn’t trust a kid to hold a pillow over may face till I died. Just a robot that looks like Joan Rivers. Check out the video.

In Japan Fujistu’s eight-core SPARC64 VIIIfx Venus CPU is now the worlds fastest processor. This isn’t your grandmothers Pentium 2 chip. This processor makes the next 5 years of computer chips look slow. The SPARC64 can handle 128 billion calculations per second. Which blows Intel out of the water 2.5:1.
Fujistu has also has built this to be compact processor using nano-technology. Its about half the size (45nm) of its next in line competitor the Intel Itanium 2 chip. which is 90nm. Intel says its next chip will be 45nm small so Fujistu might have to step up their game.

Not me, I pre ordered them all, from Japan. How you ask. I called Yoshi and mailed him an apple. In 6 weeks I’ll breathe easier, and be able to cut my tie off with my scissors from my tie organizer.
