Porn + Work = 15 months in Jail

So apparently looking at porn makes you a hacker. According to an Ohio State court. A man from Ohio was given a 15 month sentence for “hacking” his work computer to look and upload nude pictures of himself to “adult websites”.  Some of these pictures he viewed were of people involved in sexual acts. (oh my)

I'm a Mac...I'm a sexual Devient whos proffient at work.

I'm a Mac...I'm a sexual Devient whos proffient at work.

This “hacker” spent over 100 hours uploading and viewing these pictures while at work. It was proven that it never managed to interfere with his deadline, or work quality. But damn it, he’s not being a zombie for the man. So the police got involved and he was deemed a hacker. We’ll lets face it, cops and the computers don’t really go hand in hand. Maybe upper level cops, like the FBI, but the county sheriff isn’t exactly know for his computer crime solving skills.

The current Ohio hacking law states that “No person, in any manner and by any means, including, but not limited to, computer hacking, shall knowingly gain access … to any computer … without the consent of, or beyond the scope of the express or implied consent of, the owner of the computer … or other person authorized to give consent.” Although he was given consent to use the computer, the court believes that Wolf’s personal activities constituted as “beyond the scope of the express or implied consent,” thus being able to prosecute him with a hacking conviction.

Wolf’s lawyer said this is being treated so differently is because its a borderline sex offense. If he was viewing cats on Roombas no one would care. Although. I think i did see a website for cats on… Nevermind off the topic. Oh yeah he has to pay $5000. But at least he’ll be able to show off his naked body to anybody in Prison.

Moral: Don’t look at porn, and get your job efficiently. It makes it harder to claim insanity if you can do you job efficiently.

Apple has resorted to…

Shaken babies? For what? More money?

Who let this baby drink?

Who let this baby drink?

In a not so shocking find Wednesday Apple pulled the Baby Shaker application. The company offered an apology for the deeply offensive and said “mistake” to having it available for download. I e-mailed Steve Jobs and asked him how he missed this application, for which I have not received any comments back from.

Perhaps the strong language or threat of calling CPS on his “baby” (Apple) kept him from replying. This of course is is coming from the same company that has South Park episodes available for download.

Perhaps Apple has bitten off more than it can chew. They stated last year they would review every application that was submitted for content. This however does not seem to be the case. Perhaps they should outsource to a third world country. Like they do with everything else. Also like everyone else.

I think the Baby Shaker as disturbing as it was,  is a necessary evil. It sets up a nice example of how freedom of speech, and the right to create something so ugly and sell it makes this an awesome county. Was the application inappropriate, and wrong yeah. This is America people. If you don’t agree think of it like this. Stop staying your shoot the Zombie games because they remind me of your great grandmothers. Your shooting your Great-grandmother and to me thats offensive.  Just as shaken Babies offend you.
